Ensemble Vivant’s concert Latin Romance, Saturday, April 14, 8 p.m. will be a celebration of their recent highly acclaimed release Homage to Astor Piazzolla, on the Opening Day Entertainment Group. The evening will include a unique melange of some of the late Argentinian tango composer’s music, including some of his best known works such as, Adios Nonino, Fuga Y Misterio, Milonga Del Angel and featuring beautiful unfamiliar works from Piazzolla’s vast repertoire. These works were arranged exclusively for Ensemble Vivant by Piazzolla expert Julien Labro, with Milonga For Three having been arranged by Canadian jazz great Rick Wilkins. Other Latin stylings will complement Piazzolla’s music with gorgeous and exciting repertoire by composers such as Aldemaro Romero and Ernesto Nazareth.
