Peggy has sat as Treasurer on the original Board of the Performing Arts Lodge (PAL), and returned to serve as National Treasurer after Toronto’s building (PAL Place) inspired other chapters of PAL to open from coast to coast. She also served as an elected member of Toronto ACTRA Council for 15 years, serving as Chair of the Toronto ACTRA Women’s Caucus (TAWC) for the first 3 years, and as VP Finance for the last 9 of those years. Also served as National Treasurer of ACTRA for about 8 years to ensure co-operation of Branches in the re-organization of the National Association. She was also an elected Governor of the ACTRA Fraternal Benefit Society since 1995, chairing the Audit Committee for several years, and continues to sit on the Investment and Benefit Committees.
As a volunteer, Peggy read weekly for the CNIB, and sing in the Rosedale United Church Choir. As a volunteer with Habitat For Humanity, she joined the Jimmy Carter “build” in Haiti for a week in Nov./11. Intend to continue to build next year in Haiti, and elsewhere after that.
