Sue Ennis has always had a passion for art. After a successful career as an investment advisor with a major financial institution, she pursued a four year course of study at The Toronto School of Art where she graduated with a Fine Arts diploma.
Sue notes that what she finds most riveting about painting is the endless variety of materials and media through which one can express oneself. Abstract painting has been her primary focus. What unites all of her works is her love of strong colour, energy and emotion. Often her paintings contain elements of chance. “Sometimes I direct
the work and sometimes the work directs me. What makes abstract painting exciting for me is that paintings are a ‘conversation’ between the viewer and the artist that can take many turns.”
When not in the studio, Sue enjoys spending time at the cottage, travelling, working on behalf of environmental issues and studying Spanish.
